My Writing Journey

What I Learned From Another Writer Here

--

I sat up in bed, pillows propped behind my back. A cup of coffee sitting beside me, ready to catch up on my reading. I love Medium and the treasure trove of great stories, from incredible writers published here.

My personal writing journey on Medium began in 2019. I published a story close to my heart regarding laptop use in coffeehouses and restaurants. I’m not a writer with 10k followers, but I am a storyteller, so with some trepidation, I wrote the essay.

It took me forever to push publish, but after taking a deep breath, I sent it off in the late afternoon. I fully expected it would go into Medium space, but what happened I was totally unprepared for.

The following morning I received several emails regarding my essay. “I Banned Laptops In My Coffeehouse,” was curated. I was asked to be a writer because of the quality of my writing.

Wow! I danced all over the house. The Startup, Newsworthy, and Indelible Ink asked me to write for them.
